Project #01 - Time to make something new!

Ok, so here I go. Time to make something brand new. Thought I might try out the blog-thingy here as a work-log of sorts. My last song was HalfLife [Come Take My Hand], and thats months ago. So jesus christ, time to produce music NAO :@

This time around I think I'll try to make another tune with vocals by myself, in the same genra as my "Forever Gamer" and "Back in the Days". But this time there will be no nostalgic theme to it at all, I think I will try something inspired by old norwegian folk-tunes, or maybe something slightly more celtic. I dont know if it will be a happy song, an epic song or just plain sad. But what I know, is that I start RIGHT NOW.

[Mai 05th 2008] - Babysteps. Barely started creating the beat and bassline.
[Mai 06th 2008] - Beat is good. Starting playing with synth-lines now.
[Mai 07th 2008] - Might be on to something here. Testing melodies in progress! :)
[Mai 08th 2008] - Think I got a good melody going. Trying to build on it further.
[Mai 09th 2008] - Testing vocals. Will be nearly impossible to make cool. But TRYING!
[Mai 12th 2008] - Weather is too nice. Progress is slooooooooow :)
[Mai 16th 2008] - Weekend is coming up, so 2 hard days of producing indeed!

Yes, I might have to let you down on the epic part though. I think Im going more in a happy party-direction with up-beat vocals. Im actually thinking of doing the old irish song "Whiskey in the Jar". We'll see ... I'll work on it tonight :)

Speaking of forever gamer, seeing that song's score go from 4.62 to 4.47 so quickly with the amount of votes it has really pisses me off. fucking selfish people... i give it a 5 everyday, which raises its score like .000007 but whatever lol, it makes me feel better.

I think Im settling for happyfunny this time. Its alcohol and sun-time in Norway - so the more songs to sing to the better =) Yeah I noticed the song went from a rather good score and down hill pretty quickly. I guess I know why, but I aint going to say it :) People do what people do, and I dont really care that much. But thanks for the effort man, I do appreciate that =)

I'll try and make the next one (hopefully) awesome :)

This is great news! I've been waiting for something new from you since the first day I found your page (and shortly thereafter downloaded every single one of your songs. =D) I'm sure it'll be great, whether you fashion it after your other previous songs or not. You have a way of making songs that everyone can enjoy, not just gamers and people like me who listen to techno and trance way too loud in the car.

Anyway, I'm sure this song will be great, regardless of whatever "score" it recieves.

P.S. - The score isn't what counts, anyway. Forever Gamer is Popularity Rank #352, which is unbelievably good for a song that hasn't even been on the portal for a month yet. In that short time, it already passed thousands upon thousands of other audio submissions in number of listens and downloads. Allow that to boost your confidence a little, too. =)

Aha, thats awesome man :) Glad you like whatever'll come out! Little motivational boost right there man :) This one MIGHT not be about gamers, but then again - I never know what the hell Im sitting here making until Im 59% done or something, so everything can happen. If it turns out boring or shitty sounding, I just start over fresh, like always.

And when it comes to the score ... It doesnt really bother me that much. Had a good run with Forever Gamer until it "mysteriously" dropped down to a more forgettable score. But hey, every review and every listen with feedback is worth something to me. Kind of the reason why Im doing this.

So thanks for the little pep-talk man :) Weekend is coming up, so I'll get cracking again tomorrow for sure :)
